Today I've been lazy and feeling a lil bit rich. Bwahaha. So, I've decided to order takeaway (get used to it after 3 years in the UK).

Me: I've would like to order two chickens and chips please. Make it two.

CT: Sorry, our minimum order for delivery is 6 quid.

Me: Ok, i'll add onion rings then.

CT: OK, it will take about 30 min.

CT: 7pound (while he was slipping the receipt into his pocket)

Me: Can I see the receipt please?

CT: OWh, it's 6 pound.

Me: Ok then.

Kurang ajar, nak tipu aku, tak kan lah onion rings semahal dua pound. Siap nak sorok receipt lagi. Dasar penyangak punya "Tanah Besar". Hampeh. Sep 1 pound aku. Hehe~

Who the hell is he?? Thomas Risell aka MarloweDK best known for his internet bass tutorials/lessons videos in Youtube . Personally since I've started playing bass (10 months ago) he was my only teacher. Although we never met or talked before, his videos really helped me improved my technique (i guess, LOL).

MarloweDK really teaches you how to play bass with style either with fingers or pick. From slapping to tapping you name it. Well, he deserves to be called "World Class Bass Guru".

Mr. Big : Next Time Around

Best reunion ever. A great song for their comeback. Have been a fan of them since 1999. That time their guitarist was Richie Kotzen. Well, either Richie or Paul, they're both great. Gonna say that they're great individually as well as in a band(billy was wit david lee roth before Mr. Big and Paul was with Racer X). Usually when great musicians work together in a band, it doesn't sounds right. but it's an exception for Mr. Big. They've made it big time before, and their comeback was worth waiting for. Wonder how Eric Martin maintain his voice. Well, hoping to hear more new materials from them. Hopefully they can put their ultra-ego aside. KUDOS

The Computers : FREAKin' Awesome

Hybrid where blues meets punk meets hardcore. I've just heard their songs thru their myspace account. They're awesome, again I'm dissapointed to missed their performance today at Barfly Cardiff. For me it's like The Jet meets Second Combat and some pure punk band. Hahaha. Can i say so? Well, that's what i think. As a fan of Chuck Berry myself, i really like their sounds. The vocals really makes rock 'n roll sounds heavy..Do check their myspace (here) and buy their materials. Cheers..

They've amused me with their fresh sounds and raw vocal. Love the drum beats the guitar riffs. Well, if i wasn't feeling sick today I'll sure catch them perform live at Barfly Cardiff tonite. They're putting back the sickness of sound which for my point of view how rock 'n roll should have progress. Not just playing the same old tunes of rock 'n roll. There's no other bands that can top this at the moment. Kudos to the band. Keep on producing great tunes...

Than why do you guys bother to advertised for the post you're not recruiting?? But the most polite answer I get so far is "you meet the qualification needed but we found the better candidate for the post advertised:. Kambate *sigh*

A Gig To Remember?

Warghh...Last week aku and Adam pegi gig kat Barfly Cardiff. Performing BAnds are I AM FOREVER, READY OR NOT and BLACKCHALK. The gig was delayed, so we asked the staff why the door is closed?? He answered "We're still waiting for the bands..". Well not much different from Malaysian scene then..Hahaha. As soon as the door opens, we entered but was wondering..don't these bands have fans?? No offence but usually if you have fans surely they'll come and see you playing live. There were about 7 of ppl attended the gig excluding the band members (from my POV).

The opening band was READY OR NOT (here), well, they're good performers but it looks like a jam session rather than a gig (in a good way tho). The drummer was the heart of the band from my POV(again ;p). Then Adam and I went out to get some drinks. Later we came back and it's I AM FOREVER.

I AM FOREVER was great, they reminds me to THE USED without the scream. They were a tight band. Do check their Myspace (here) and buy their EP 'We Are The Fire' via iTunes or Amazon. If you're into BRANDNEW style of bands you'll love I AM FOREVER. Trust me. Adam even bought their tee's. Great design.

Then came BLACKCHALK. In my oppinion they were the best performer at the gig. Good crowd interaction and quite funny tho. Go on, check their Myspace (here) and listen to their songs. At the end of the show the vox 4th string broke but he still plays with the guitar (although Stefano of I AM FOREVER tried to give him his guitar).

Well, in the flyers there should be another band called THEY SINK SHIPS (here) but maybe i've missed their performance or they werent there.

Postmortem

Although there were just few of us the bands performed as if there were 50 of us. Kudos to the bands performed that night. Just that i'm a bit frustrated bcoz it was just ppl standing instead of moving around. It's like we're in a funeral..

It's Funeral For A Friend meets Atreyu. Their slow song 'Holiday' really knocked my to the ground, a perfect blending sounds of guitar, bass and drum as well as the extra punch from the sound of keyboard/violin. The vocals tho reminds me of Charles Rossem (nicestupidplayground). Then it goes from mellow to totally wack with the heavy but catchy tunes of 'A Walk Home' and 'REV'. Kudos to the band.
